    Summary The Program Support Assistant (Oncology) is located within the Surgical Care Service of the Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) in Aurora, Colorado. The Program Support Assistant provides administrative, technical, and program support services. The work involves coordinating complex onboarding actions, maintaining compliance and tracking systems, and serving as a primary point of contact for staff and leadership across Surgical Care, Surgical Subspecialties, and Oncology Surgery Care. Responsibilities Duties to include but not limited to: Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents. Keeps/types meeting minutes, agendas and reports. Collects, assembles, and compiles data for administrative and management reports. Assists computer users regarding selection of applications, training on a variety of standard application packages, and selection of appropriate formats and procedures for each task. Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, and/or arranges conferences. Screens calls and personally answers calls when the requested information concerns routine and procedural requirements. Maintains the appointment calendar and reminds supervisor/staff members of subject matter prior to meetings. Establishes and maintains office files and records. Prepares and submits documentation for training and travel. Serves as official timekeeper - notifying supervisors when leave limits are exceeded, posting staff time and attendance, processing time-cards. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, performed at a desk using a computer. Occational walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items (files, supplies, small packages) is required. No special physical demands are associated with the position. Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office environment that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Normal safety precautions apply when working with office equipment. The incumbent may occationally move between departments or facilities to deliver materials or attend meetings. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/21/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, and/or arranges conferences; Serves as official timekeeper - notifying supervisors when leave limits are exceeded, posting staff time and attendance, processing time-cards; Assists computer users regarding selection of applications, training on a variety of standard application packages, and selection of appropriate formats and procedures for each task; Tracks program specific information; Orients and trains others on computer use; Screens calls and personally answers calls when the requested information concerns routine and procedural requirements; Establishes and maintains office files and records. Preferred Experience: The capacity to work in a challenging environment while maintaining a professional demeanor. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot various user account issues and submit IT tickets which will lead to a successful resolution. ADPAC (Automated Data Processing Application Coordinator) knowledge working with NARS (Network Access Request System), ADPS (Account Provisioning/Deprovisioning System), USAccess and prescribing enabling applications. Additionally, timekeeping experience within the VATAS platform is a plus along with utilization of the AMION on call system.
