Position Brand Description:
Lilly Neuroscience is seeking an experienced scientist to join the Neurodegeneration team to facilitate its mission of discovering and developing novel medicines for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, and other related neurodegenerative conditions. The individual will join a laboratory focused on _in vivo_ research to support our expanding neurodegeneration portfolio, and they will leverage their technical expertise to lead high quality studies and sample collection to support identification/development of novel targets for neurodegenerative conditions. A key focus of the scientist will be the utilization of multiple _in_ vivo techniques including complex surgical models to support therapeutic investigations in pre-clinical animal models. Importantly, the individual will collaborate with colleagues across the Neurodegeneration group to facilitate both exploratory and portfolio workstreams. The scientist must possess a strong work ethic and an ability to quickly master numerous new techniques. Key Objectives/Deliverables:
+ Lead and conduct _in vivo_ studies from start to finish, including all sample collection
+ Perform all core _in vivo_ dosing techniques as well as lab specific methods
+ Master and perform rodent surgical techniques
+ Perform key lab techniques associated with _in vivo_ work (pipetting, sample/solution prep)
Basic Requirements:
+ BS/MS in Biology, Animal Sciences, Pharmacology, or a related field with minimum of 2 years of post-degree relevant academic or industry experience.
+ Strong skills and significant experience in developing/ performing _in_ vivo applications. Accurate, timely record keeping and data collection with clear organization and detail. Clear communication of data with supervisor and project teams.
+ Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
Additional Preferences:
+ Prior experience in small rodent CSF collections, surgeries, and stereotaxic injections
+ Knowledge in neurodegenerative disorders
+ Drug development experience
+ Strong documentation, communication, and presentation skills
Additional Information
+ 1-5% travel.
+ On-site position at Lilly Corporate Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
+ This role requires some weekend and holiday work as well as flexibility in work schedule to meet study needs.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$65,250 - $169,400
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
