We seek applicants who are dedicated to servingThe University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’sstudent body as a three-yearlecturerofquantitative methods starting spring2026.
Our courses are offered during the day and evenings in different modalities- face-to-face, hybrid, online synchronous and online asynchronous. The duties for a Lecturer position are teaching and service. Evidence of demonstrated potential for quality teaching is expected along with a willingness to provide service to the department, college, university, and community. Applicants should have good communication skills and student interaction abilities.

Department/CollegeBackground
The Department of Information Systems offers Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in information systems and in business analytics, a Master of Science in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems. The department faculty engages in high-impact research in information systems, analytics, and quantitative methods and have published in leading business journals. The Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship ( RCVCOBE ) offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree programs in accounting, business administration, business analytics, economics, finance, information systems, international business, management, and marketing to over 4,000 students.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have:
• Master’s degree in Quantitative Methods, Decision Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a closely related field from a Carnegie research university/ AACSB International-accredited institution and a minimum of two years of professional experience,
• Applicants must have at least 18 hours of quantitative methods, analytics, or statistics-related graduate courses.
• Applicants must meet RCVCOBE AACSB faculty qualifications for scholarly academic, practice academic, scholarly practitioner, or instructional practitioner.

• Two years of college teaching experience.
• Substantial professional career experience in Quantitative Methods, Business Analytics, Decision Sciences, or a closely related business field.
• Passion to share work experience with our students and contribute to student success and program development.
• Substantial community involvement such as participation in a professional society and/or serving as a speaker for local or regional events.
• Doctoral degree in Quantitative Methods, Decision Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a closely related field from a Carnegie research university/ AACSB International-accredited institution.

UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may
require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is
performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive
and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code
•51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of
Texas ( TRS ), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least
135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement
Program ( ORP ) instead of TRS , subject to the position being 40 hours per week
and at least 135 days in length.
