Position Description
This is a non-Civil Service grant funded position in the Office of Family Safety and will provide professional and programmatic leadership and advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence interacting with the Department of Children’s Services (DCS) in Davidson County. This position promotes best practices established by the Safe and Together model and acts as Liaison between DCS and local domestic violence service providers.

Typical Duties
+ Provide ongoing training, coaching, and support to DCS staff in identifying safety and risk factors related to domestic violence
+ Facilitate conversations between DCS staff and local domestic violence service agencies to assist in resource linkage for the non-offending parent and child(ren)
+ Consult with DCS staff to identify the perpetrator’s pattern of coercive control and non-offending parent’s strengths and protective factors
+ Consult in the development of safety plans and/or case plans that enhance survivor and child safety and promote perpetrator accountability
+ Participate in CFTMs and other staffing of cases involving domestic violence
+ Coordinate with DCS training department to facilitate domestic violence-focused training for new and existing DCS staff
+ Conduct individual coaching sessions with DCS staff on topics including, but not limited to, the dynamics of domestic violence, intersections of domestic violence and child maltreatment, and safety planning
+ Attend in-home visits with DCS staff, non-offending parents, and children
+ Provide voluntary advocacy services to non-offending parents and their children, including safety planning, linkage to local resources, crisis intervention, and emotional support
+ Promote system-level coordination with DCS, domestic violence service providers, courts, law enforcement, and other local partners
+ Collect and report non-personally identifying aggregate data regarding program activities and services
Minimum Qualifications
+ Minimally 2 years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and with child welfare or related systems
+ Strong administrative skills with Microsoft program (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
+ Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of abuse and effective intervention strategies and the intersectionality of child welfare and domestic violence
+ Demonstrated ability and willingness to engage in positive collaboration with individuals and groups with diverse perspectives
+ Strong interpersonal skills
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills
+ Strong organizational skills
+ Ability to pass a background check
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, Social Work preferred
+ Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally during the workday
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Experience developing and delivering training
+ Problem solver, highly efficient, and detail-oriented
+ Experience with data management and analytics
+ Experience working in or with both non-profits and the criminal justice system
+ Experience working with multidisciplinary teams/collaboratives
+ Experience working under and reporting on grants

+ This position is an in-person position within the Family Safety Center
