    BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

    As the primary finance partner for the business unit general managers at MSC, the Finance Director, Business Units leads a team of finance managers to provide strategic decision-making support to category managers, merchandising teams, pricing, and category operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring that price increases, inflation, and gross margin are accurately forecasted, with any changes in trends clearly understood and communicated.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + **Team Leadership:-** Lead and mentor a team of finance managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to support the business units effectively.

    + **Strategic Partnership:-** Collaborate with category operations, pricing, merchandising and other business unit teams to provide financial guidance and support. Act as a strategic partner, offering insights and recommendations to optimize market share gain, supplier cost management and pricing strategies.

    + **Strategic Financial Planning:-** Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans that align with MSC's long-term business objectives. Provide strategic financial insights to support business leaders in making informed decisions.

    + **Financial Oversight:-** Monitor and analyze overall gross margin performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and foresight into risks. Ensure financial strategies are aligned with business objectives and drive profitability.

    + **Financial Planning and Analysis:-** Provide comprehensive financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making. Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets.

    + **Compliance and Reporting:-** Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.

    + **Continuous Improvement:-** Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations and reporting. Leverage technology and best practices to drive efficiency and accuracy.

    + Performs all duties inherent in the role of MSC Director as defined in the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, termination, review, and development of associates

    + Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSCs vision and unity of purpose.

    + Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

    QUALIFICATIONS

    What You Need:

    + Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience managing people and leading business strategy.

    + Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance is required.

    + Strong knowledge of pricing strategies, supplier cost management, and gross margin analysis required.

    + Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting required.

    + Experience with financial software and ERP systems.

    Bonus Points If You Have:

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders.

    + Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

    + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

    Other Requirements:

    + A valid drivers license may be required.

    + Position requires up to 5% of travel.

     

    Compensation starting at $127750 - $200750 depending on experience.

     

    The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidates relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity.-The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
