    As a Director of Architecture at JPMorgan Chase within Home Lending Architecture, you will lead the strategic direction and design of systems and user experience architecture for our digital platforms. You will guide a high-performing architecture team, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to build consensus and translate product visions into scalable, resilient, and cost-effective technical solutions. Your role will involve defining and driving the technical target state and strategy, ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards, participating in architecture governance, and evaluating new technologies to enhance product quality and operational stability. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, offer guidance to development teams, and foster innovation through creative problem-solving, automation, and vendor evaluations to continuously improve our systems and processes.

    Job responsibilities

    + Lead the high performing architecture team. Engage with Product and Engineering leaders to bring consensus on the designed architecture.

    + Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs. Defines the technical target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy

    + Convert product ideas and visions into tangible architecture. Architect scalable, resilient, cost-effective solutions based on modern technologies and frameworks.

    + Collaborate with product managers, developers, and UX/UI designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

    + Ensure all applications adhere to industry-standard security best practices and compliance requirements.

    + Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.

    + Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the development process and product quality.

    + Participates in architecture governance bodies. Evaluates recommendations and provides feedback on new technologies

    + Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

    + Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

    + Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information

    Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    + Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.

    + Hands-on practical experience delivering architecture, system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

    + Experience in domain driven design, data modeling, micro services architecture, event & streaming technologies and best practices.

    + Advanced experience in API design and management, Service definition and consumption including API, brokers, REST APIs

    + Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role in digital web and mobile application development.

    + In-depth knowledge of industry-standard security best practices for public-facing digital applications.

    + Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and in building cloud-native application

    + Defining Non-functional requirements and architectures to satisfy availability, extensibility, and resiliency needs

    + Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.

    + Ability to work well at a conceptual and practical levels, resolve ambiguity, and to drive concepts out into workable solutions. Ability to define target state architectures, and develop realistic transition plans for achieving target state

    + Hands-on experience modeling with UML, object-oriented constructs, or other modeling language. Experience with formal enterprise architecture models and tooling, such as TOGAF

    Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    + Experience with AI/ML, LLM and Generative AI is preferred.

    + AWS Certification preferred

    + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
