PURPOSE:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Cybersecurity team as a Fall Intern. We are currently recruiting students who are interested in the following cyber areas:

In this role, you will be matched with a team that aligns with your interests and our resource needs. Your primary responsibility will be to support the various functions and tasks performed by the team you are matched. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to learn and gain knowledge of different functional areas across the Cyber Security Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities may vary depending on the team you are matched with:
+ Support the cybersecurity team information gathering for the purpose of assessing cybersecurity risk.
+ Assist with the development and review of cybersecurity deliverables.
+ Assist with the development and/or review of cybersecurity policies and standard operating procedures.
+ Participate in compliance and audit activities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
+ Help organize and deliver cyber awareness campaigns and workshops.
+ Evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives and suggest improvements.
+ Participating in programs and projects that cross intra-organizational boundaries requiring coordination with organization-wide teams.
+ Support the implementation and enforcement of information security standards and best practices across the organization.
+ Assist the team in regular assessments of network and system security for intrusion detection, vulnerability, and security configurations.
+ Collaborates with the security community to obtain technical cyber threat intelligence. Research emerging information security threats, vulnerabilities, and their countermeasures.
+ Leads the implementation of strategies for the detection and reporting of day-to-day security incidents.
+ Support processes to implement technical solutions to address vulnerability findings.
+ Execute initiatives and other activities requested by the supervisor.
+ Identify and learn appropriate software and tools used and supported by the Cybersecurity team.
+ Work with other IT groups as necessary to complete the assigned projects.
+ Research as appropriate ways to improve assigned tasks and processes.
CareFirst runs a year-round internship program. The ideal candidate is someone who can work throughout the year up to 15-20 hours in the Fall/Spring and full time in the Summer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education Level:** High School Diploma or GED
**Experience:** 3 years' college experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
**Salary Range:** $18,720 - $26,000

The hire range posted is an annual rate. All intern positions will be paid hourly.
