Description:

Responsibilities:

+ reviewing inventory documents received via Publix Connection, fax, and provided by the inventory service who counts much of the inventory

+ performing audits on sub-department voucher expenses and retail/cost items to ensure proper recording to Publix’s financial statements

+ providing subject matter expertise and support to Retail Operations and Retail Leadership regarding bonuses and P&L reporting

+ ensuring that donation forms are properly received and accurately accounted for in preparation for potential tax saving benefits

Year End Bonus:

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.

Required Qualifications:

+ Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or another analytical discipline or equivalent

+ ability to multi-task and handle large volumes of work at once

+ auditing and analytical skills

+ verbal and written communication skills

+ time management and organizational skills

+ ability to work under deadlines and handle the pressure of deadlines

+ exhibit professionalism and the ability to deal with confidential subject matter

+ willingness to be a team player

+ must be self-motivated

+ must be flexible and highly productive

+ basic skills in Microsoft Office Applications and Internet Explorer

+ willingness to work a variable work week schedule, if necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or another analytical discipline

+ 3 years’ experience in retail environment

+ knowledge of (Quality Improvement Process) QIP improvement methodology

+ knowledge of P&L Accounting

+ knowledge of the different retail departments and sub-departments

+ intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Applications

+ basic skills in Host on Demand & Store Accounting
