    In line with TTU’s strategic priorities to engage and empower a dynamic student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with a breadth of student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.

    As a faculty member in the Honors College, you will be expected to:

    1. Contribute to the teaching mission of the College by teaching four Honors courses per academic year (generally a 2/2 load), mentoring undergraduate researchers, and developing curriculum;

    2. Publish high-quality research, seek external funding, and participate in other scholarly activities as appropriate to your specific area of expertise;

    3. Demonstrate a commitment to outreach and engagement with partners external to the University; and

    4. Support the Honors College, the University, and your academic community through service activities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:

    + Evidence of substantial experience offering high-quality instruction in introductory courses in calculus, statistics, accounting, and/or finance;

    + A background in Honors as a student, staff member, and/or faculty;

    + Experience with receiving, working on, and/or seeking federally funded research grants.

    + Success in collaborating across disciplines on research and grant-seeking related to Texas Tech’s five Strategic Research Themes: Systems Resilience & Adaptability, Powering Our Future, Advancing OneHealth, Rural & Urban Development, and Strengthening National Security.

    Faculty Qualifications:

    1. A Ph.D. at the time of appointment in an applied mathematics discipline or related field;

    2. A demonstrated history of presenting and publishing works in the applied mathematics discipline or related field.

    3. Demonstrated commitment to and/or effectiveness in a broad-based, liberal arts, globally minded education and engaged, experiential, high-quality teaching;

    4. Research and teaching interests and experience that would provide teaching, curriculum, and mentoring support to Honors students in a variety of mathematics-heavy fields, including (but not limited to) engineering, business, agricultural and life sciences, and geosciences.
