    The Commission licenses and regulates new motor vehicle manufacturers, distributors and their representatives; new motor vehicle dealers and their salesmen; motor vehicle lessors and their agents; used motor vehicle facilities of the new motor vehicle dealer, motor vehicle lessors, and special vehicle dealers and their salesmen; motor vehicle convertors; specialty vehicle dealers and their salesmen; brokers, lease facilitators, motor vehicle lessor franchisors, satellite warranty and repair centers; vehicle protection product warrantors; recreations product dealers and manufacturers and their salesmen and representatives including: all-terrain trailers; boats; boat packages; marine motors; marine products; motorcycles; recreational vehicles (motor homes, travel trailers, fifth-wheel travel trailers; folding camper trailers, slide in truck campers); trailers (utility trailers, boat trailers, recreational trailers, semitrailers, livestock trailers, dump trailers); companies financing motor trailers; and GAP administrators, in order to prevent frauds, impositions, and other abuses upon its citizens, and avoid undue control of the independent motor vehicle dealer and recreational products by their motor vehicle manufacturing and distributive organizations and foster and keep alive vigorous and healthy competition, by prohibiting unfair practices by which fair and honest competition is destroyed or prevented, and to protect the public against the creation or perpetuation of monopolies and practices detrimental to the public welfare, to prevent the practice of requiring the buying, leasing, or renting of special features, appliances, and equipment not desired or requested by the purchaser, lessee, or renter, to prevent false and misleading advertising, to prevent unfair practices by said licensees, to promote the public safety and prevent disruption of the system of distribution of motor vehicles and recreational products to the public and prevent deterioration of facilities for servicing motor vehicles and keeping same safe and properly functioning, and prevent bankrupting of motor vehicle and recreational products dealers and lessors, who might otherwise be caused to fail because of such unfair practices and competition, thereby resulting in unemployment, disruption of leases, and nonpayment of taxes and loans, and contribute to an inevitable train of undesirable consequences, including economic depression

    Position Summary

    The LMVC is seeking an individual to fill the Administrative Coordinator vacancy in our Licensing Department. Administrative Coordinators are always professional with a good working knowledge of the license requirements for the motor vehicle/recreational product dealers, manufacturers, distributors, as well as the financing of these products and GAP/Vehicle Protection products. Administrative Coordinators are expected to develop or possess effective verbal and written communication skills and work effectively with supervisors, team members, agency personnel, and licensees.

    An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

    + Communicating Effectively: The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas.

    + Following Policies and Procedures:The ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Three years of experience in administrative services.

    EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

    Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    An example of Job Duties includes but are not limited to:

    + Examines application packets submitted (on behalf of both in-state and out-of-state entities) for licensure to ensure compliance with statutory mandates of the LMVC law and the MVSF Act, as well as the requirements of the rules and regulations promulgated under the provisions of the LMVC and the MVSF. Investigating and analyzing data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant to determine accuracy, authenticity, statutory compliance, and completeness of factual information to document the determination of eligibility and qualification for licensure.

    + Investigates, researches and analyzes areas of responsibility of motor vehicle dealers and recreational product dealers to determine if other dealers have a right of protest pursuant to the statute. Issue right of protest notices to the dealers of their statutory rights. Setting up a monitoring system for the statutory time frame for protest. If a protest is received, assist in the setting of the formal hearing. If no protest is received, notify the appropriate parties that no protest has been received, and they may go forward

    + Investigate and analyze franchise agreements, debt waiver or debt forgiveness agreements, vehicle protection agreements for statutory compliance and/or violations of statute.

    + Investigates and researches areas of responsibility for trade shows. Investigate out-of-state exhibitors to determine compliance with state statute.

    + Reviews documents to determine eligibility for and if approved, issues licenses for all LMVC and MVSF applicants to do business in the state of Louisiana. Advises applicants and/or licensees of the status of application and/or requests relative to the requisite information for further disposition of same

    + Investigate and analyze franchise agreements, debt waiver or debt forgiveness agreements, vehicle protection agreements for statutory compliance and/or violations of statute.

    + Maintains and safeguards required records on all licenses.

    + Assist Investigations Division with special investigations, preparation of reports of fraud, and preparation for administrative hearings in the denial of initial licensure.

    + Create and/or index digital image of the required documentation

    Appointment Type: Probational

    Work Schedule:Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

     

    Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
