    Job Title: Staff Accountant

     

    Department: Accounting / Finance

     

    Reports To: Accounting Manager

    Job Summary:

    The Staff Accountant is an entry-level accounting position responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the finance department. This role provides hands-on experience in general accounting, reconciliations, data entry, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to build a strong foundation in accounting principles while supporting key financial processes across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Post daily cash receipts to the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of all incoming payments.

    + Assist with administrative financial tasks such as credit card, cell phone, and fleet management.

    + Prepare selected work papers and reporting documents for management and auditors.

    + Code and record credit card transactions in accordance with company policy.

    + Assist with the preparation of journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

    + Assist with account reconciliations (bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, etc.).

    + Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis.

    + Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

    + Monitor and analyze expense reports and budget variances.

    + Handle special projects or ad hoc analysis as assigned by management.

    Qualifications:

    + Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

    Work Environment:

    + Office with the option of one hybrid day weekly

    + Standard business hours

    High School Diploma or equivalent 1-2 years accounting experience Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
