Job Description Summary:
• Provides administrative support and basic level clinical support to physician practices to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services.
• This role does not function as an MA but may be required to perform basic, non-invasive rooming and VS skills if needed.
• Attends AMA training to gain clinical experience before placement into ambulatory care site
Responsibilities And Duties:
Successful completion of clinical competencies established for the practice site enabling efficient and effective patient flow, ie. Rooming, medication history, basic patient care skills.
Successful completion of Care Connect EMR documentation skills (AMA Track)
Performs necessary administrative duties that assure all information is current and updated
Communicates, collaborates, and anticipates the needs of the health care team in order to ensure continuity and quality of care and coordination of services.
Maintains and cleans environment, work area, equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate dept/unit personnel.
Stocks and cleans exam room after use.
Communicates malfunctioning equipment/ instruments to appropriate department/unit staff. Removes from service any malfunctioning equipment.
Orders and puts away supplies.
Provides transport assistance to patients when needed (i.e. wheelchair, walker, etc.).
Maintaining office logs and rounding summaries.
Completes paperwork preparation for office.
Enters external data into EMR system correctly.
Communicates with patients and customers in a respectful and caring manner
Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
Promotes and advocates for patient quality, safety, and experience initiatives. Acts as a role model
Is compliant with scope of practice
Minimum Qualifications:
High School or GED (Required)
Additional Job Description:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
+ Completion of School of Administrative Medical Assisting or Medical Secretary training
+ 1+ years as Medical Secretary
+ 1+ years as Administrative Medical Assistant
+ 1+ years as both Inpatient Unit Clerk/PSA
