_About the Opportunity_
This is an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.
The selected candidate may be offered a position within the same job family, at a level that is lower than what was posted. This will be determined based upon the results of the interview process which considers the candidate's skills, work history, experience level, and other relevant qualifications.
This position is in the Ohio Rates and Regulatory Affairs group. The preferred reporting location is the FEHQ. Other reporting locations may be considered.

+ Salary Range: $66,725 - $94,200
+ Analyst III
+ Salary Range: $77,350 - $109,200
+ Analyst IV
+ Salary Range: $92,650 - $130,800
+ Analyst V
+ Salary Range: $108,800 - $153,600
The pay range for certain locations, including the state of New Jersey, include a 20% differential to account for an increased cost of living.

Responsibilities:
+ Supporting efforts to ensure that FirstEnergy's Ohio distribution utilities (Ohio Edison Company, The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, and The Toledo Edison Company) receive adequate and timely recovery of their costs
+ Supporting the Companies’ implementation of House Bill 15, which includes preparation of multi-year rate plan schedules, supporting the writing of testimony, the discovery process, and annual revenue and expense reconciliation
+ Using analytical skills to develop an understanding of various ratemaking concepts, including revenue requirements, cost allocation, cost of service, rate of return, regulatory accounting, and the time value of money
+ Assisting in strengthening the relationship between FirstEnergy's Ohio utility companies and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) by establishing rapport with the PUCO Staff and other members of the external regulatory community
+ Assisting in the development of strategies on other regulatory and engineering matters, such as grid modernization, emerging technologies, line extensions, and lighting
+ Supporting the customer service and engineering organizations on matters such as tariff implementation and enforcement, and other customer inquiries
+ Conducting business-specific research, analyzing data, interpreting results, and making recommendations
+ Meeting the needs of internal and external customers through sound service and responsiveness
+ Providing analytical support to mid-to-executive level management
+ Exercising sound decision making by developing alternatives and recommendations to advance Company positions and improve work processes
+ Developing effective working relationship with employees within own work group and throughout the FirstEnergy organization
+ Actively seeking formal and informal learning opportunities to better understand evolving regulatory and policy issues
An employee hired at the Analyst III - V level will be expected to perform all of the above responsibilities with more proficiency, and in a more independent manner.
Qualifications
_Qualifications at the Analyst II level include:_
+ Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, math or related discipline required. Advanced degree is a plus.
+ Minimum 2 years relevant work experience required. Relevant work experiences will include analytical, research and relationship building skills. Advanced degree is a plus.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word). Experience in SAP, Business Explorer, Qlikview, or other data querying tools is a plus.
+ Must be willing to travel for business to other company locations and Columbus, Ohio as appropriate for hearings, meetings and other activities, which may include overnight travel.
+ Demonstrate a questioning attitude to learn, produce results, and develop relationships.
+ Strong analytical abilities, including problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making.
+ Deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work in a team environment.
+ Desire to continue to learn and grow.
_Qualifications at the Analyst III level include all of the above plus:_
Minimum 4 years relevant work experience required. Relevant work experiences will include intermediate analytical, research and relationship building skills. Advanced degree is a plus.
_Qualifications at the Analyst IV level include all of the above plus_ :
Minimum 7 years relevant work experience required. Relevant work experiences will include advanced analytical, research and relationship building skills. Ability to become subject matter expert on Rates and Regulatory Affairs issues with the potential to submit and support expert testimony in Company rate proceedings. Advanced degree is a plus.
_Qualifications at the Analyst V level include all of the above plus:_
Minimum 10 years relevant work experience required. Relevant work experience will include advanced analytical, research and relationship building skills. Ability to become subject matter expert on Rates and Regulatory Affairs issues with the potential to submit and support expert testimony in Company rate proceedings. Advanced degree is a plus.
