    The opportunity

     

    Delaware North Sportservice is hiring Culinary Interns to join our team at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. As a Culinary Intern, you will prepare food at Little Caesars Arena and learn about the importance of wellness and nutrition when creating and cooking recipes.     $14.00 - $15.00 / hour

    What will you do?

     

    + Prepare food to recipe specifications promptly

    + Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed

    + Keep workstation and cooking equipment clean, organized, and sanitized

    + Make sure food temperatures are maintained and food is stored properly

    + Ensure compliance with food safety standards and follow all health codes and sanitation regulations

    More about you

    + High school diploma; enrolled in a program

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    + Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes

    + Basic math skills with the ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions

    + Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

    Physical requirements

    + Ability to lift and carry large pans, weighing up to 50 lbs

    + Manual dexterity to chop, mix, blend, whip, etc., a variety of foods and liquids

    + Standing and walking for the entire length of the shift
