Mental Health/Behavioral Tech

Salary: $684 / Week
The Mental / Psychiatric Health Technician cares for individuals withpsychiatric conditions as well as a variety of substance use disorders,following the instructions of physicians, nurses or other health practitioners.The Behavioral Health Technician monitors a patients’ safety, physical andemotional well-being and report directly to medical staff.
Minimum Requirements:
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Associate’s degree in behavioral studies or related field,or equivalent experience preferred (or per facility requirements)
+ Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience preferred
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
Qualifications/Licensure:
1+ Full Year of Psych Experience ( Corrections, Detox, Crisis, Treatment Centers etc)
Typical job duties & work environment:
Assisting with Daily Living Activities
Restraining Patients
Med Pass
Document and Chart behavior

Specific experience required:
+ MUST HAVE PSYCH EXPERIENCE ( CRISIS HIGHLY PREFERRED)
+ Experience with youth Psych preferred
+ This is a facility that takes BAKER ACT PATIENTS- So some patients are there against their will
+ HEAVY YOUTH/JUVENILE POPULATION

Ratios (if applicable):
Normally have 2 RN/3 techs on shift, depending on acuity. If they have multiple 1-1 or an aggressive unit we add additional BHT.
Float Requirement:
NA
Orientation process:
2-3 Days of training
Include paper work and shadow shifts for days.
Usually Thurs-Fridays but can change.
ORIENTATIONS WILL BE DAY SHIFT 8a/9a- 3p/4p etc
