The Vice President of Strategic Accounts and Customer Growth, Large Pharma, leads a portfolio of large and mid-sized pharmaceutical accounts at IQVIA. This role demands a blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution, driving account strategies, client engagement, and team performance to achieve financial and growth targets. You will champion revenue growth, client retention, and overall satisfaction across your cluster, positioning IQVIA as a trusted, long-term partner to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
_Drive Growth:_
+ Revenue Growth: Identify and pursue opportunities to expand revenue through up-selling, cross-selling, and strategic initiatives. Partner with marketing and product teams to align offerings with client needs and market trends.
+ Operational Excellence: Establish and manage best-in-class sales processes, including opportunity management, account planning, and forecasting.
+ Forecasting & Reporting: Oversee pipeline management and provide accurate forecasts and updates to senior leadership.
+ Market Intelligence: Track industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging client needs to shape portfolio strategy. Act as a credible source of market insight to inform IQVIA’s product development and investment decisions.
_Team Leadership:_
+ People Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of seasoned professionals and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer-centricity.
+ Strategic Vision: Define and communicate a clear vision for accounts within the cluster, aligned with IQVIA’s objectives. Drive the creation and execution of account strategies that deliver measurable growth and deepen client relationships.
+ Influence & Empowerment: Balance direct leadership with a servant-leadership approach, knowing when to step back to enable team success.
_Client Engagement:_
+ Relationship Management: Build and sustain trusted, long-term relationships with senior client executives. Serve as a strategic advisor and ensure consistent value delivery.
+ Contracting & Retention: Oversee renewals and negotiations, proactively addressing client needs and opportunities. Drive strategies to maximize client retention and satisfaction, including regular business reviews and innovative value propositions.
+ Escalation Management: Act as the senior point of contact for escalated issues, ensuring rapid resolution and leveraging feedback for continuous improvement.
+ Stakeholder Collaboration
+ Partner with IQVIA executive leadership, product, marketing, finance, and other teams to ensure customer insights inform business strategy and portfolio innovation.
+ Serve as a visible advocate for client needs, positioning IQVIA as the partner of choice through credibility, trust, and measurable impact.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 10+ years of experience in client-facing leadership roles in sales, account management, customer success, or consulting; minimum 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
+ Proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing teams in a B2B environment.
+ Strong background in strategic account growth, ideally within life sciences or healthcare.
+ Demonstrated success in growing multi-million-dollar client portfolios.
+ Exceptional communication, executive presence, and strategic thinking skills.
+ Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.
+ Resilient, adaptable, and effective in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $154,800.00 - $431,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
