Position Summary:
As a Product Strategy Manager, you will play an integral role in shaping the strategic direction and execution of payment systems within our organization, driving innovation, efficiency, and profitability. This position requires a blend of analytical and strategic expertise within financial services, technology, and business operations. You will be responsible for defining and driving strategy and product development with measurable P&L impact.
The Product Strategy Manager will implement and manage payment solutions that enhance customer experience and align with MUFG’s financial and strategic goals. Key responsibilities include analyzing payment trends, optimizing platforms, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
_Major Responsibilities:_
+ Develop a robust payments strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
+ Enhance payment processes to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
+ Identify and implement innovative payment solutions.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate payment strategies into broader business plans.
+ Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences to craft a payments strategy.
+ Define short-term and long-term payment initiatives that support growth and scalability.
+ Recommend solutions for improving payment reliability, speed, and security.
+ Oversee the implementation and optimization of payment platforms, gateways, and methods.
+ Ensure seamless integration of payment systems with existing technology infrastructure.
+ Evaluate payment technologies, including mobile payments and alternative methods.
+ Monitor payment-related financial metrics, including transaction volumes, costs, and revenue generation.
+ Identify risks associated with payment systems and develop mitigation strategies.
+ Ensure compliance requirements are met.
+ Work closely with product teams to ensure payment features align with user needs.
+ Partner with marketing to promote new payment options and educate customers.
+ Collaborate with IT teams for technical support and updates on payment platforms.
+ Oversee contract negotiations.
+ Build out project plans, including business requirements, project planning, and managing expected ROIs
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
+ Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in payments, financial services, or strategic roles.
+ Prior exposure to eCommerce and fintech environments is highly desirable.
+ Strong analytical skills to interpret data and trends.
+ Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
+ Effective communication and presentation skills to convey complex ideas.
+ Proficiency in payment technologies and platforms.
+ Thorough understanding of global payment regulations and compliance standards.
+ Driving growth through the adoption of cutting-edge payment technologies.
+ Enhancing customer retention by providing seamless payment experiences.
+ Positioning the company as a leader in the Commercial Card industry.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $190K - $215K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
