    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Transmission Control Center (TCC) supervisor will lead a team of Area Desk Operators (ADOs) in providing Safe and Reliable operation of the Georgia Integrated Transmission System (ITS) in real-time in accordance with the NERC Reliability Standards and other established guidelines and procedures. The Area Desk team provides 24x7 operations 365 days per year.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    The TCC supervisor will ensure continuous improvement in operating tools, guidelines and procedures, lead in meeting NERC requirements and audits, recruit and develop new operators, lead during major storms and other emergencies, plan for major national events, and engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to support the success of their projects and events. The TCC supervisor will recruit, develop, and lead NERC certified Power System Coordinators and work closely with peer teams to ensure consistency in providing safe, reliable, and efficient TCC operations. The TCC supervisor will gain extensive knowledge of the power system and leadership in a 24/7 critical reliability function. The TCC Supervisor will lead the ADO team in a safety excellence environment with a focus on learning as well as implementation of the STEP observation tools. The TCC Supervisor will have accountability to ensure a culture within the team that is inclusive, builds trust and is continuously improving. The TCC Supervisor will provide performance management as well as leadership and guidance in dealing with customer issues (internal and external). This position will partner closely with the other departments to deliver best in class, customer value, reliability and cost.

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    + At least 8 years of combined experience in power system control center operations and/or transmission construction, maintenance, planning, or design. (Required)

    + Supervisory and leadership experience (preferred)

    + Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferred)

    + NERC certification (preferred)

    + Power system operating experience in Transmission, Distribution, or Generation (preferred)

    + Knowledge of company safety procedures and the safe operation of the system.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    + Meet all physical and cyber security requirements including participation in the Insider Threat Program.

    + Serve in an on-call rotation to support 24x7 operations.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Ensure Safe and Reliable operation of the GA ITS in real-time and in the operations planning horizon.

    + Support our Transmission Operators in the timely restoration of the system for routine and major events.

    + Ensure the Resiliency of the grid and prepare our team for a wide range of natural and manmade threats.

    + Lead activities to provide safe, reliable, efficient clearances for maintenance and construction projects.

    + Partner with stakeholders to address operating concerns and support the success of their projects and events.

    + Lead our team in maintaining high situational awareness including load/generation trends, planned/unplanned outages, weather, and external factors affecting power flows and customer loads.

    + Engage stakeholders effectively both in daily grid events and enhancing long-term operating practices.

    + Support the floor in the areas of daily technical assistance, data integrity, operator tools and procedures, process improvements, communication aids, drills, major events, reliability reporting, and compliance.

    + Lead in our “Practice like we play” approach to continual training and drills to enhance operational readiness.

    + Lead in our Safety Excellence culture and engage in frequent coaching to reinforce safe behaviors and safety accountability.

    + Lead in our Culture of Compliance and ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, and other requirements.

    + Communicate a clear vision and supporting goals for both the cultural and technical success our team.

    + Engage daily in coaching and mentoring to ensure all team members are successful in their assignments and growing in their technical and leadership competencies.

    + Champion our DE+I initiatives to foster a healthy, inclusive culture and ensure equity in our processes.

    + Establish trusting relationships where each employee feels comfortable sharing their ideas and concerns.

    + Lead in our Learning Culture to promote life-long growth and continuous improvement.

    + Develop and mentor PSC candidates to shift readiness. Continuously grow our bench strength in all roles.

    + Identify and address technical and leadership training needs for our team. Manage NERC training.
