PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Manages the delivery of excellent nutrition care to patients by providing direction, education, guidance and support to area and facility dietitians in an assigned area. Collaborates with other members of the interdisciplinary quality team to act as a resource and subject matter expert to promote improvement of quality outcomes.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Provides general direction, guidance and feedback based upon professional standards and company guidelines to support area and facility dietitians within the assigned geographic area in achieving the desired outcomes in the following: quality, patient satisfaction, teamwork, unit culture and employee satisfaction. Acts as a nutrition services resource and liaison for area and facility level dietitians as needed.
+ Collaborates with other members of the regional interdisciplinary Quality team to drive quality improvement initiatives/activities to achieve standards identified in CMS Conditions for Coverage and company quality requirements.
+ Technically proficient in utilizing appropriate dashboards to monitors high-level quality trends. Analyzes complex quality issues using in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Evaluates results and initiates/drives improvement activities as needed.
+ Collaborates with interdisciplinary quality team to design and formulate in-depth, specialized training programs and policies for national implementation with the primary goal of utilizing these programs to improve quality and clinical practice.
+ Leads quality improvement efforts through Nutrition Services staff to ensure the effective achievement of Quality goals within the assigned region(s).
+ Collaborates with Nutrition Services leadership to design and formulate in-depth, specialized training programs and policies for national implementation with the primary goal of utilizing these programs to reduce risk exposure in the areas of clinical practice, quality, business, and customer service.
+ Responsible for the national delivery and ongoing maintenance of assigned training programs. Responsible for ensuring assigned training programs are available and readily accessible to staff hired after initial rollout. Maintains continuing education documentation for training programs as applicable to ensure compliance as a CDR Credentialed Provider.
+ Provides leadership, guidance and coaching for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.
+ Interacts frequently with internal departments; particularly in problem resolution. Strong decision maker, capable of handling unforeseen issues. Responsible for hiring, coaching and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action and terminations.
+ Attends and participates in regional, area, and team meetings as appropriate which may include: quality team building and staff development and other meetings as appropriate. Collaborates with appropriate regional management staff as needed to achieve effective inter-disciplinary and intra-disciplinary relationships.
+ Maintains and improves knowledge and skills for a competent and innovative practice.
+ Maintains dietetic registration and continuing education hours as specified by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and state licensure regulations where applicable. Regularly monitors registration and licensure status of direct reports.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:
+ Responsible for the direct supervision of area dietitians within the assigned area.
EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS** **:
+ Registered Dietitian as per Commission on Dietetic Registration
+ Current state licensure, if applicable.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
+ 3+ years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ 2+ years' experience as a Manager; or 2+ years' experience in a senior managerial role.
+ Certification as Renal Nutrition Specialist (CSR) preferred
+ Proficient with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other web-based applications.
+ Demonstrated leadership competencies and skills for the position, including ability to teach, strong organizational skills, excellent communication, customer service, relationship development, results orientation, team building and decision making.
+ Maintains professional demeanor and presentation
+ Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team to develop projects, motivate other team members, and gain support and input from team members in an unstructured environment.
