UPMC Kane's Orthopedic Administration in Kane, PA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Medical Assistant to support our expanding orthopedic practice.

     

    In this dynamic role, you'll provide hands-on patient care while also assisting with essential administrative tasks. Some travel may be required to support other UPMC Kane clinics, offering variety and experience across our network. We welcome candidates with prior experience as a Medical Assistant, CNA, or in a medical office or orthopedic setting.

    In this role, there will be the opportunity to-

    + Check schedules and organize patient flow to support efficient care delivery.

    + Accompany patients to exam rooms and assist with mobility, dressing, and specimen collection.

    + Collect patient history, vitals, and perform screenings per provider guidelines.

    + Relay instructions to patients and families with clarity and compassion.

    + Send and receive medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.

    + Prepare and clean exam rooms and equipment according to infection control protocols.

    + Manage inventory and restock supplies to maintain readiness.

    + Comply with OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health, and UPMC policies.

    + Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, level one labs, and assist with procedures.

    + Document patient information accurately in the medical record.

    + Answer phone calls and provide patient education as directed.

    + Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and maintain complete patient charts.

    + Administer injectable medications and vaccines under physician supervision.

    Required:

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.

    Preferred:

    + Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant.

    + Prior medical office, orthopedic, or other relevant experience.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    + Act 34
