    Position Assistant Retail Store Manager

    Description

    Compensation: $25-$27 an hour

     

    About this role

     

    The Assistant Retail Store Manager runs the day-to-day operations at the Outdoor Research Seattle Flagship Store alongside the Retail Store Manager while being a great team leader and providing legendary customer service.

     

    What you will do

     

    + Foster a commitment to provide Outdoor Research legendary customer service and instill in your staff the same commitment and drive

    + Motivate staff to contribute to the productivity of the retail store

    + Greeting and assisting customers in a helpful, positive, non-intrusive manner throughout the purchasing/decision process

    + Assist the store manager in supervising staff to create an exemplary shopping experience for our customers

    + Manage the day-to-day operations of the Seattle Store

    + Step into the roll as Manager- Seattle Retail Store as necessary

    + Utilize daily register to account for all daily sales numbers

    + Maintain the store labor schedule to ensure an appropriate level of staffing is always in place to accomplish the store goals

    + Maintain security in the retail store to include safe operation, cash handling, alarms and CCTV

    + Assist Manager-Seattle Retail Store in ensuring company policy and procedures are communicated and followed accordingly by staff

    + Oversee new hire training of new staff in the retail store

    + Provide timely coaching and feedback to store employees, maintaining documentation to support performance development and ensure accountability.

    + Other duties as assigned by the Manager- Seattle Retail Store

    Position Requirements

    What you should bring to the table

     

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + 3+ years of experience in retail sales and/or 1+ year of managing experience preferred

    + Participation in one or more of OR core sports preferred

    + Knowledge of and/or intermediate to advanced experience with various outdoor gear and equipment, Outdoor Research products preferable.

    + Proficient in POS systems and MS Office products

    + Ability to effectively mentor Sales Associates

    + Skilled in delivering constructive feedback and setting clear expectations to promote employee growth and accountability.

    + Excellent communication & customer relationship skills

    + Self-managed and motivated and able to solve problems efficiently and effectively

    + Ability to train staff and effectively delegate tasks to ensure the store runs efficiently

    + Be approachable and able and eager to initiate customer interaction

    + Ability to meet schedule and attendance requirements
