Job Description Summary
The Director of Hosting Operations will set the vision and drive the strategy to deliver, maintain and optimize on-prem hosting operations for infrastructure services. In this role, you will lead a global organization of managed service providers, GE technologists, architects, and operational teams. You will partner closely with stakeholders across GE Aerospace sites, networks, and cloud teams to develop a comprehensive delivery model for on-prem infrastructure services that deliver competitive advantages and meet business needs.
Job Description
In this role you will:
+ Lead a global team to design, build, and operationalize on-prem hosting infrastructure operational services supporting Compute, virtualization, storage, Edge and Data Centre/Colo services.
+ Partner with multiple teams across Aerospace DT, including Cyber, CxO teams to create shared strategic roadmaps for on-prem hosting operations. Communicate these plans to Business stakeholders for awareness and adoption. Do this with a _cloud first_ thinking mindset.
+ Demonstrate strong technical leadership and people management skills including solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation, and resolution.
+ Build, coach, mentor, and nurture a world class operational on-prem hosting services team.
+ Manage capacity, velocity, and backlog across managed service providers and GE technologists to ensure business priorities are met while minimizing or eliminating technical debt across assets.
+ Deploy internal products and platforms to improve team capabilities and efficiency, such as lean principals, standard work/ SOPs, process automation, quality assurance and testing.
+ Drive a consistent communication rhythm on organization and governance/operational status, keeping DT leadership and functional partners aligned with overall initiative-based outcomes.
+ Establishing and govern a world class wing to wing operational support model.
+ Set the example; drive standards across teams to eliminate duplication and rework across Aerospace.
+ Plan and manage budgets related to scope of team and consumed services. Own any chargeback model and financial reallocation for hosting across GE Aerospace.
+ Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of GE Aerospace business direction, strategy, and GE Aerospace results. Make GE’s Business strategy relevant to on-prem services and stakeholders.
+ Establish and foster a work culture at all levels that is positive, collaborative, diverse, inclusive, respectful, innovative, dynamic, with high integrity, and capable of driving positive change over sustained periods of time.
+ Technical leadership to influence suppliers on designs that align to our standards.
+ Continually ensure value for money, choose optimal technology solutions that align strategically & commercially for global infrastructure.
+ Deliver and support the defined strategic roadmap for hosting infrastructure tooling and technologies.
+ Demonstrate “Cloud First” thinking for hosting.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of **8** years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of **11** years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of **13** years of professional experience
+ Minimum 5 years of professional experience ininfrastructure services and hosting (Compute, virtualization, storage) technologies.
+ Experience working in an ITIL environment
+ ITIL3 and/or ITIL4 foundation certified
+ **Note:** Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Desired Characteristics:

+ Experienced in design, performance, availability, and scalability of on-premises infrastructure
+ Knowledge of business and financial principles and practices including strong financial management and strong business analysis and problem-solving skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage team and service operations across the product ecosystem and make tradeoffs based on key business priorities
+ Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are not 100% defined
+ Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
+ Demonstrated experience leading and influencing across a complex, global matrix organization
+ Demonstrated ownership of business decisions including outcomes and any required rework plans
+ Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing team members
+ Experience providing feedback on performance toward goals
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with Executive leadership with confidence and clarity
+ Uses critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions
+ Ability to proactively identify and remove obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
+ Strategic thinker with the ability to create and execute concrete action plans
+ Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills
+ Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure, influence multiple levels of stakeholders towards common goals and targets.
+ Adopt and leverage lean principals
