Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
This position is located at our Headquarters location in Bismarck, ND.
Responsible for providing leadership and oversight of warehousing operations across all company locations. Strategically ensures the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective management of inventory and warehousing activities to support field operations, project execution, and emergency response.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
+ Lead and develop warehouse teams cooperative-wide.
+ Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to safety, operational efficiency, and cooperative standards.
+ Implement and enforce best-in-class warehousing practices, inventory control procedures, and quality standards compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and internal audit requirements.
+ Regularly perform on-site warehouse assessments, ensuring alignment with corporate standards.
+ Manage enterprise-wide warehousing strategy, aligning warehouse capacity, layout, and operations with business needs.
+ Coordinate and oversee regular cycle counting programs to ensure inventory accuracy and asset protection.
+ Support cross-functional collaboration to support project timelines and materials availability.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing operational costs, improving service, and optimizing space utilization.
+ Manage inventory, track performance, and prepare and present operational performance reports and strategic recommendations.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field; and 5 years of progressive experience in warehousing, supply chain, or logistics, of which 3 years were in a leadership role; or
+ An associate's degree in a related field; and 7 years of progressive experience in a related field of which 3 years were in a leadership role; or
+ A high school diploma; and 9 years of experience in a related field of which 3 years were in a leadership role.
+ A valid driver’s license.
+ Ability to travel to remote and rural warehouse locations approximately 50% of the time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Experience with emergency logistics or storm response warehousing.
+ Experience working with union and non-union staff.
+ Working knowledge of environmental and safety regulations applicable to utility warehousing
+ Advanced knowledge and experience with SAP Warehouse Management (WM or EWM) modules or related ERPsystem.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
This position requires constant hand coordination; frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds, sitting, standing, and walking; and occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 15 pounds, climbing, bending, and reaching, low level activity, and elevated activity. The incumbent uses office equipment, field tools, and a forklift for retrieval/inspection of parts. This position requires finger dexterity, good color vision, good hearing, and the ability to perform close work. This position also frequently works in conditions of noise/vibration; and occasionally around dirt/dust, extreme heat/cold, and chemicals. This position must be respirator qualified.
KEY SKILLS
+ Experience in the energy utility industry or other highly regulated environments.
+ Strong understanding of SOX compliance and inventory control best practices.
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
+ Strong working knowledge of inventory control and warehousing best practices.
+ Ability to operate and train others on ERP systems.
+ Ability to work independently while aligning with centralized direction.
