In the Lead Manufacturing Engineer role, you will lead cross-functional readiness activities for manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, delivery and cost priorities and seamless integration into shop operations. In this role, you will be responsible for departmental operations planning/ execution and focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks to ensure uninterrupted production and delivery, with a focus on creative, proactive solutions
+ Lead cross-functional Problem Solving within the Turbine Airfoils Value Stream, focusing on inventory reduction, cost optimization, and process efficiency, with measurable outcomes.
+ Use proactive methods to ensure sustainment of changes
+ Direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development
+ Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy
+ Use some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles
+ Use technical experience and analytical thinking
+ Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions
+ Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
+ Explain information; develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field
+ Convey performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing operations experience)
+ At least an additional 3 years of building cohesive teams, resource management, and problem solving
