POSITION OVERVIEW
The Partnership for Public Service is seeking an experienced project management professional to join a dynamic team working to support the federal science community and public understanding about the role of federal science in their lives and communities. This manager will manage grants and projects focused on communicating the impact of federal science on individuals and communities and partnering with science organizations and other trusted messengers to engage the public and support the federal science workforce.
Specifically, this Manager will perform duties such as:
+ Working alongside the Partnership’s development team to manage relationships with funders, including providing regular updates, tracking and identifying any roadblocks with grant deliverables and monitoring grant budgets.
+ Establishing project management processes and coordinating across workstreams to track progress, monitor metrics and identify opportunities for collaboration and efficiency.
+ Clearly communicating internally and externally about project progress, milestones and opportunities for growth and impact.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong project management background who also has experience facilitating collaboration across multiple workstreams and working with funders and external partners. This individual will be responsible for ensuring successful execution of multiple grants funding this work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Develop project timelines and monitor progress, escalating issues with proposed solutions.
+ Establish metric and milestone reporting processes and timelines.
+ Develop and monitor grant budgets.
+ Facilitate conversations and collaboration across the broader science and public engagement teams to achieve grant outcomes.
+ Collect progress updates for funders and internal and external stakeholders.
+ Coordinate planning, lessons learned and other project meetings to improve project execution.
+ Lead development of proposals, concepts, budgets and other fundraising materials in collaboration with development team.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional work or military experience.
+ Five to seven years of relevant work experience, including demonstrated success leading projects to accomplish results.
+ Experience managing grant projects/budgets required.
+ Master’s degree in public policy, public administration, social science, political science or a related field, preferred but not required.
+ Knowledge of or experience in or with the government preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY/REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position will report to the director of public engagement and may supervise an intern.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a hybrid (remote + office) environment in Washington, DC. The successful candidate must be a permanent resident in the Washington, DC, Maryland or Virginia area. The person in this role is expected to work in the office, on average, three days per week – with Wednesday as the required day in-office. This position requires consistent use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer/scanner and MS Office.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is an at-will, term position starting November 2025 and running through May 2027. This position is full-time and classified as exempt from overtime pay. Official business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern, though the Partnership allows flexibility in work schedules. Occasional evenings or weekend activities may be required.
TRAVEL
If travel occurs, it is usually during the business day. Some out of the area and/or overnight travel may occasionally be required.
SALARY
The starting salary range for this position is $70,000 - $95,000. The Partnership offers a compensation package that includes a competitive salary; medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; long- and short-term disability insurance; a 401(k) program with a 4 percent employer match; opportunities for training and development; commuter benefits; 15 days of annual leave per year, 10 days of sick leave per year, plus all federal holidays and the day after Thanksgiving off; and use of an on-site exercise facility.
