The **UWMC- Montlake Central Supplies Processing Department (CSPD)** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Sterile Processing Technician (Hospital Central Services Technician 1).**

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Support Harborview’s Surgical Services / Operating Rooms by decontaminating, processing, sterilizing, and assembling complex surgical instrument arrangements
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Harborview ‘s Central Processing Unit manages the entire workflow of sterile instruments in the medical center and our supported clinics. The CPU is tasked with standardizing and consolidating the processes used to ensure the highest levels of sterility and cleanliness are being met for our patients. Utilizing the latest techniques and applying breakthrough technologies, the CPU provides unparalleled support to the Harborview mission of Patients Are First.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Verify correct sterilization cycles by checking and signing graphs and printouts;
+ Load autoclave carts and process products, including surgical instrument sets and respiratory equipment, through terminal sterilization using either steam or toxic gas as appropriate;
+ Perform, analyze, and document sterilizer function tests using vacuum, chemical, and biological indicators; take appropriate action for abnormal results;
+ Perform basic calculations related to verifying sterilizer functions and inventory control:
+ Inspect, test, assemble, package, label and date instruments, basins and procedure trays; label and sterilize linen packs and selected disposables; tag for repair;
+ Inventory and assemble special emergency kits such as Code 199 and disaster carts;
+ Sort, soak, and hand-clean basins and instruments; disassemble as needed; load into baskets and process through automatic washer/sterilizers;
+ Operate semi-automatic cart washer to clean case carts, utility carts, patient chairs, etc.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
+ One year of experience as a Hospital Central Services Technician Trainee or equivalent
+ equivalent education/experience may be considered

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$52,164.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$74,676.00 annual
Other Compensation:
$3,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible new part-time and full-time employees joining UW Medicine
