IT Fuel Specialist I

**Welcome to Love's!** The Field Technology Services department is looking **IT Fuel Specialists** to provide hands-on technical support to Love’s store operations by addressing complex fuel system and communication issues. A major focus of this role involves troubleshooting and coordinating resolution of fuel outages in collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and support partners. You will assist with the programming, testing, and validation of fuel dispensing system communication at new and existing Love’s locations.
This role also leverages generally available AI tools to enhance problem-solving, documentation accuracy, and workflow efficiency. By using AI resources for information gathering, pattern recognition, and task optimization, this position supports improved responsiveness and operational reliability across store systems.
Job Functions:
+ Collaborate with store users and vendors to identify system faults and determine appropriate solutions.
+ Analyze escalated work orders and apply structured troubleshooting steps to resolve technical issues.
+ Handle advanced-level fuel system calls from vendors and Facilities Maintenance.
+ Travel to Love’s locations nationwide for new store openings and complex fuel system assignments.
+ Troubleshoot and repair fuel system communication issues, validating that systems perform correctly and consistently.
+ Test and verify equipment functionality following installation or service.
+ Partner with other departments to resolve critical issues, document resolutions, and contribute to training resources.
+ Review closed tickets and utilize available AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini) to identify recurring issues, trends, or process improvements.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of all work orders and calls in Salesforce or other company systems.
+ Assist in the implementation of system updates, process improvements, or automation initiatives.
+ Adhere to established timelines, technical specifications, and expense guidelines.
+ Supports broader team and enterprise goals by proactively contributing to initiatives outside of core responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ 0-1 years Help Desk experience (Help Desk experience at Love’s preferred)
+ Basic AI certification not required but considered a plus.
Hard Skills
+ Strong experience with Windows Operating systems and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
+ Basic networking skills
+ Gilbarco certification required (Company provided)
+ Basic understanding of computer systems, networking, and automated monitoring tools.
+ Demonstrated ability to use generally available agentive AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or Google Gemini to improve personal work efficiency and productivity.

+ Detail-oriented and thorough in following procedures and documenting work accurately.
+ Reliable and accountable, consistently meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
+ Collaborative team player who supports others and contributes to shared goals.
+ Flexible and eager to learn new systems, including AI-supported tools and technologies.
+ Practical problem solver who uses curiosity and logic to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
Work Environment:
+ Prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
+ Eye strain (screen use)
+ Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
+ Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
+ Requires normal range of hearing and vision
+ Additional hours may be necessary.
+ Traveling via car and plane will be required (Amount of travel does vary but travel typically is about 1 week per month)
+ Overnight travel is required
+ Valid Driver license is required
