Role Definition
As the Senior Performance Simulation Application Engineering Specialist within the Drivetrain group you will be the subject matter expert on drivetrain structural components and systems with responsibilities for advanced simulations, modelling and system design. This role includes both individual contributions as well providing technical leadership in structural design across the drivetrain organization.
You will work across an organizational matrix actively collaborating with other subject matter experts, design engineers and other process partners to develop solutions for complex structural problems. To be successful, candidates will possess deep technical knowledge on varied topics related to structural mechanics and structural dynamics. Key desired skills include strong computational skills, FEA, system simulation, project management, problem solving and analytical thinking. Other pre-requisites for this position include excellent collaboration, communication and project management skills. You will also be responsible for proactive development of your own skill sets that will enable you to be the corporate expert and technical leader in this field.
What you will do
+ Virtual product development (VPD) using advanced simulations and analytical techniques on complex drivetrain systems and components
+ Provide engineering guidance to CAE, CFD, durability/fatigue analysis to improve structural design
+ Identify and provide product improvement solutions for new products as well as continuous product improvements
+ Collaborate with and provide technical leadership to project leaders
+ Develop and maintain engineering standards related to drivetrain structures
+ Engage with professional organizations, standards organization and industry groups
Skills you must have

+ **Problem Solving** : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
+ **Technical Excellence** : Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
+ **Project Management** : Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
+ **Computer-Aided Design & Engineering** : Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.
Top candidates will also have
+ 15+ years of relevant experience in the field
+ Advanced degrees at Masters or Doctoral level focused on structural analysis with 10+ years of relevant experience
+ Hands on experience using a commercial FEA suite (preferably Abaqus) and system analysis software
+ Proficiency in programming with Matlab, Python or other languages
+ Familiarity with developing theoretical models
+ Prior experience with analysis of drivetrain structural systems is desirable
+ Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as castings, forgings, fabrications, machining etc
+ Strong background using FEA techniques, CAE software, CFD and durability/fatigue analysis

+ This position will close on 11/5/2025 at 11:59 p.m.
+ This position is located in East Peoria, IL (Building KK).
+ This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
+ Domestic relocation is available.

+ Travel requirements will be less than 10%.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
