    A Day in the Life:

     

    We seek a strategic and hands-on leader to architect and execute safety programs for our mobility operations. This role will be responsible for building safety systems and processes from the ground up, working quickly to solve ambiguous challenges in a fast-paced environment. You will blend operational expertise with analytical rigor to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety metrics, reporting mechanisms, and actionable interventions. Experience within transportation and logistics, especially using AI-enabled telematics and driver monitoring platforms is a major bonus. You will partner cross-functionally to ensure our drivers and riders experience the highest standards of safety, compliance, and care.

     

    The salary range for this position is $120-140k

    What You’ll Do:

    + Build and implement fleet safety systems and processes from the ground up, adapting quickly to evolving business needs and ambiguous challenges.

    + Design, implement, and monitor key safety metrics (e.g., incident rates, compliance scores, training completion) and reporting systems to drive continuous improvement.

    + Leverage AI-enabled telematics and driver monitoring platforms to proactively identify risks, improve driver behavior, and enhance overall safety outcomes.

    + Develop and deliver safety training programs for drivers, focusing on best practices, regulatory compliance, and incident prevention.

    + Investigate safety incidents and near-misses, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.

    + Partner with Operations, Legal, HR, and external partners to ensure seamless safety processes and rapid response to emerging risks.

    + Advise senior leadership on safety trends, risk mitigation strategies, and regulatory changes.

    + Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal safety regulations, as well as internal policies.

    + Leverage data analytics to identify patterns, forecast risks, and inform strategic decisions.

    + Champion a culture of safety through transparent communication, recognition, and engagement initiatives.

    + Manage and develop direct reports, building a scalable safety team as the business grows.

    What We’re Looking For:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or related field.

    + 7+ years’ experience in safety, operations, or risk management—preferably in transportation, logistics, or high-growth, multi-site environments.

    + Ability to travel 25%-50% to operating sites.

    + Proven success designing and implementing safety programs for frontline.

    + Strong analytical skills; proficiency with safety management systems, Excel, and data reporting tools.

    + Deep knowledge of safety regulations (DOT, OSHA/CalOSHA, local ordinances) and compliance best practices.

    + Experience conducting incident investigations and delivering safety training.

    + Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to foster a safety-first culture among frontline teams.

    + Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and passion for operational excellence.

    + Experience with deploying AI-enabled telematics and driver monitoring platforms is a major bonus.

    + Background in transportation or logistics safety is a plus, but not required.
