Job Description Title: Engineering Intern Reports To: VP Engineering Department: Engineering FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
This is a non-benefited position, running from mid May through Mid August of 2026
JOB SUMMARY The Engineering Intern will work directly in-house with Engineering, Quality, and Operations personnel to supplement efforts in those functional areas while gaining valuable knowledge in the areas of manufacturing and functional design. This is not a job shadow. Instead, you will be directly embedded into the department and have the opportunity to participate in projects as a functioning team member.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Create and manipulate CAD models including setup for 3D printing Interpret basic detail and assembly drawings and/or schematics Perform basic product design modifications Assist with documentation and engineering change processes to support existing products Organize data and support report generation to document test results Perform basic technical calculations and data reduction Assemble and test prototypes systems Effectively communicate with team members and production personnel Perform other duties as assigned Keep supervisor(s) informed of work status, work problems and progress as related to work assignments Follow prescribed safety & environmental regulations and policies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial) or other technically relevant discipline. Previous engineering/technical experience is valued but not required
Background Prerequisites American Rheinmetall Systems Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing) Motivated and self-directed Team oriented with good communication skills Ability to meet performance goals Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office applications Previous knowledge or experience with SolidWorks CAD preferred but not required

• Must be able to maintain composure in dealing with executives, customers and staff, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations Will perform majority of duties in office environment with occasional exposure to hazards of production environment requiring protective equipment May be required to work overtime without advance notice May be exposed to or required to handle sensitive and confidential information May be required to move boxes or materials weighing up to 50 pounds Must be able to maintain a stationary position (sitting) 75% of time Must be able to move about inside the office to access materials, supplies and office machinery Ability to travel local as required
