Job Title:** **Payroll Coordinator
Description:
+ This position reports to the Senior Plant Controller and supports approximately 750 hourly employees within the Campus. At each facility, the processing of the hourly payroll is a key operational/accounting role. This role ensures that all accounting, pay, and operational controls are in place and provides the needed controls around this critical area of the plant operation. The Payroll Clerk/Admin will work flexible hours within a week based on the deadlines or deliverables for this role or task assigned by the Senior Accountant or Controller. This flexibility may include weekends and holidays, particularly if a holiday falls on a Monday. The role if full time and onsite.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Identify the major duties/responsibilities of the job. List the percentage of the incumbent's time that will be spent on each major duty/responsibility. Total should not exceed 100 percent. It is not necessary to list duties/responsibilities that represent less than 10 percent of the time.
Summary of major duties:
1. 60% Backup Payroll Coordinator
+ Process the bi-weekly payroll for the plant hourly employees as well as process biweekly payroll accruals and weekly payroll for the contingent workforce
+ Ensure that all Sarbanes Oxley controls are in place and functioning adequately throughout the entire year
+ Process all payroll deductions and additional earnings on a timely basis
+ Assist with the tracking process for hourly attendance within the prescribed plant policy ·
+ Be onsite to assist EEs with payroll questions and respond to questions submitted through Service Now
+ Process incoming garnishment orders, garnishment remittances (payments), and set-up new vendors
+ Assist with annual/periodic wage updates for Hourly EE’s by updating spreadsheets for IS and HR to ensure new wage structures are complete based on desired deadline
2. 30% Customer Support and Training
+ Answer questions related to Payroll from hourly employeese.
+ Develop and perform training of supervisors on Payroll in coordination with Payroll Coordinator and Senior Plant Controller
+ Develop and perform training for hourly employees on paystub comprehension.
+ Serve as SME regarding ad hoc request related to payroll by attending meetings, pulling payroll data, providing input/perspective on payroll rules/policies and other on, behalf of Finance/Controller.
+ Perform testing for S/4 update of Payroll system.
3. 10% Administration – Reese Campus
+ Provide general administrative support to the Reese Campus.
+ Support purchasing and requisitioning, for emergency or breakdown orders.
+ Responsible for Time approval for salary personnel’s overtime.
+ Provide administrative support for closure tracking, data management in SAP, and other files.
+ Updates training manuals in both electronic and hard copy format. · Coordinate meetings attendance and related resources.
Dimensions:
+ Describe the scope of the position in terms of appropriate measures (personnel supervised budgets, assets, sales, units processed, calls handled, etc.)
Details:
+ Approximately 750 hourly employees
+ Production pounds: 165 million pounds at the Plant, and 50 million processed pounds at RCP (2025 budget)
+ Labor costs of approximately $80 million at Campus (2025 budget)
+ Developing technology skills especially with SAP
+ Ability to analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, and execute process improvement recommendations
+ Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/areas of responsibilities simultaneously.
+ Ability to produce accurate results in a fast-paced constantly changing environment
+ Strong attention to detail
Education:
+ High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree or equivalent education and/or experience preferred, but not required
Must Haves (i.e., years of experience?) SAP, Payroll experience (at least 2 years)
+ Software Skills and Purpose (if applicable): SAP, Excel, Powerpoint
+ Industry Experience: Manufacturing / Consumer Goods preferably
