    Your role and responsibilities

    As a Maximo Application Architect, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of IBM Maximo Asset Management solutions to meet complex business needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance enterprise asset management systems.

     

    • Architect and design end-to-end Maximo solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.

    • Lead the implementation, configuration, and customization of Maximo applications, including workflows, integrations, and reports.

    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring best practices in Maximo architecture.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications.

    • Oversee integration of Maximo with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, IoT platforms, SAP, Oracle) using tools like Maximo Integration Framework (MIF).

    • Ensure system performance, scalability, and security through optimization and adherence to industry standards.

    • Conduct system upgrades, migrations, and patch management for Maximo environments.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Maximo deployments.

    • Develop and maintain documentation for architecture designs, configurations, and processes.

    • Stay updated on Maximo product updates and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions.

    Required technical and professional expertise

    • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management (versions 7.x or higher), including at least 3 years in an architect or lead role.

    • Technical Skills:

    • Expertise in Maximo configuration, including Application Designer, Database Configuration, and Workflow Designer.

    • Proficiency in Maximo Integration Framework (MIF) for integrating with external systems.

    • Strong knowledge of Maximo’s Java-based customization, including MBOs (Maximo Business Objects) and Java class extensions.

    • Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) for Maximo backend management.

    • Familiarity with Maximo deployment on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) or on-premises environments.

    • Architecture Knowledge: Proven ability to design scalable and secure Maximo architectures for enterprise-level deployments.

    • Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior developers or administrators.

    • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex Maximo-related issues.

    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    Preferred technical and professional experience

    • Advanced Certifications: IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Maximo Asset Management or equivalent certifications.

    • Industry Experience: Experience in asset-intensive industries such as utilities, oil and gas, manufacturing, or transportation.

    • Advanced Technical Skills:

    • Experience with Maximo Anywhere for mobile application development.

    • Knowledge of Maximo Spatial Asset Management or Maximo Linear Asset Management.

    • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for automation in Maximo environments.

    • Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs and middleware (e.g., WebSphere, MuleSoft) for advanced integrations.

    • Cloud Expertise: Experience architecting Maximo solutions on IBM Cloud, AWS, or Azure, including containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

    • Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments, using tools like JIRA or Git.

    • Additional Tools: Knowledge of related IBM tools (e.g., IBM Control Desk, Maximo Health, Safety, and Environment Manager).

    • Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
