Job Description

Provides leadership on a 24 hour basis to the Central Sterile Department and other locations/areas as assigned in order to provide for the entire sites needs as well as assess, plan, implement and evaluate new equipment and supplies. Responsible for the overall workflow in department. Promote the mission, vision, and values of Kaleida Health. Direct, plan, and organize the staff and activities of assigned departments. Ensure best practices relating to decontamination, sterilization, preparing, assembling and packaging of all instruments are adhered to by the staff. Utilize key performance indicators for trending areas in need of improvement. Act as a role model and maintain proficiency in all areas of responsibilities.

Education And Credentials

High School Diploma or GED required. Associate of Applied Science in Healthcare or similar field preferred. Reg Specific Continuing Education (10hrs) within 1 year required.

Experience

2 years of experience in Central Processing required. 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. Cert Registered Central Service Tech, Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician required, or Certified Surgical Technologist required.

Cert Reg Central Ser Tech Cred OR Cert Sterle Proc Dist Tec Cred OR Cert Surgical Technologist required upon hire. Certified Instrument Specialist or Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist or within 18 months of hire. Certified Endoscope Reprocessor or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor or within 18 month of hire. Certified Healthcare Leader or Certified Sterile Processing Manager or within 18 months of hire.
