This is an exempt level position.
Position Summary:
The Logistics Superintendent is responsible for leading the 24 /7 / 365 operations of the Logistics department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant loading, unloading, and shipment of high-quality products that deliver value to customers and returns to shareholders. This role oversees the operations of truck loadout, rail loadout, tank farm, and barge dock operations, with a strong focus on human and food safety, regulatory compliance, colleague development, and performance.
Reporting to the Complex Manager, the Logistics Superintendent is a key member of the Site Leadership Team and plays an active role in supporting programs related to human and food safety, product quality, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement (Performance Excellence). The Superintendent ensures departmental alignment with site-wide goals and fosters collaboration across other functions.
This leader is expected to engage directly and through front-line supervisors, providing clear direction, motivation, communication, training, coaching, and discipline as necessary. The ability to partner effectively with site and commercial leaders, particularly during operational slowdowns or disruptions, is essential to success in the role.
The position leads a team of approximately 35 full-time colleagues, including both supervisory and hourly roles, and supports operations across all shifts in a facility that runs 365 days a year.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Ensures the team works safely and maintains full compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including permits, laws, and company best practices.
+ Aligns department goals with the complex’s objectives, communicating priorities clearly through a structured management system.
+ Coordinates operations to meet established product, quality, safety, housekeeping, and environmental standards.
+ Leads by example, demonstrating ADM Core Values in all decisions and actions.
+ Collaborates across teams to develop and execute a strategic vision for the department through a deployment plan focused on continuous improvement and KPI achievement.
+ Serves as a key stakeholder on the leadership team, actively engaging in daily reviews and responding to issues in coordination with the Complex Manager.
+ Drives root cause analysis and resolution for KPI deviations, incidents, and near misses to prevent recurrence.
+ Partners with Centers of Excellence to enhance operational technology and reliability.
+ Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing, ensuring consistent interpretation and application of organizational policies and procedures.
+ Conducts regular colleague performance reviews, collaborates with HR on performance management, and supports colleague development plans.
+ Takes initiative to develop self and team by accepting additional roles and responsibilities.
+ Champions a strong safety culture, promoting process safety improvements and managing Process Safety Management programs where applicable.
+ Leads daily Logistics department operations, overseeing loading and shipment of products that meet or exceed quality and food safety standards.
+ Develops and executes long-term strategies to maintain safe, reliable operations that meet food safety expectations and production targets.
+ Partners closely with the maintenance team to implement maintenance strategies including predictive, preventative, and corrective actions for reliable production systems.
+ Drives continuous improvement efforts to enhance department performance, prioritizing and aligning initiatives with business goals.
+ Ensures safety engagement and readiness for internal and external audits.
+ Oversees training, onboarding, and disciplinary actions for department colleagues to ensure timely progress and compliance.
+ Coordinates with both internal and external groups (including contract rail, trucking, tow operational partners), to optimize scheduling and minimize delays.
Required Skills:
+ Prior experience leading or supervising teams
+ Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
+ Self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision and is results-driven to meet leadership goals.
+ Commitment to safety, including awareness of personal and team safety practices and compliance with environmental and quality standards.
+ Motivated and focused on driving continuous improvement and managing complex logistics systems.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
+ Valid state-issued driver’s license required.
+ Willingness and physical ability to work in all types of climates and environments, including extreme temperatures, noisy and dusty conditions, and confined spaces, all of which require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
+ Capable of swimming, climbing stairs, ladders, catwalks, and elevated platforms; able to lift, bend, kneel, stand, and sit for extended periods; respirator qualification required.
+ Flexibility to work alternative shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Education Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management (or equivalent).
Required Experience:
+ 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience required.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$92,800.00 - $173,600.00
Salaried Incentive Plan:
The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus and a long-term incentive plan
