Our Sales team works closely with travel agencies, United travel departments, corporate clients and more to provide phenomenal customer solutions that lead to fruitful business relationships. And through valued customer feedback, optimized partnerships, and innovative sales strategies, Sales continues to be the largest revenue-generating department at United.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Manager - Sales Deal Desk will operationalize, optimize, and report on the construction, payment, performance-tracking, and overall execution of United’s deals with channel partners. This includes providing detailed insight into economic performance of existing and proposed deals, as well as working with our channel partner-focused frontline sales leaders to support negotiating new and renewed deals with our partners.

     

    + Manages the agency/channel side design, negotiation, execution, and reporting on all channel programs in partnership with frontline leadership.

    + This includes deals with agencies, TMCs, leisure channels e.g. consolidators, wholesalers, specialty/niche, independent contractors, etc.

    + Develop models to efficiently provide ad-hoc analytical support to agency account managers as well as support advancement of reports for all channel programs.

    + Continuously improve the efficiency of management & execution of our channel partner agreements with the current framework and/or programs, in conjunction with IKC, Digital Sales, and Agency Sales teams.

    + Provide business-related guidance to the SPM tool design process.

    + Coach team members on rigorous analytics, channel economics in the airline industry, strategic thinking, and managing relationships with channel partners and internal channel sales professionals.

    **Note:** This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with in-office requirements 50% of the time from United Airline’s Corporate Headquarters in Chicago, IL. This role will travel up to 10% of the time.

    Qualifications

    What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

    + 4+ years of experience in analysis of airline such as sales, network, revenue management, marketing, financial planning, or operations strategy; or other relevant commercial leadership experience

    + Foundational knowledge of revenue drivers for airline and B2B sales

    + Effective time management for multiple projects and deadlines

    + Must be a team focused, collaborative individual

    + Attention to detail, decisive decision-making, and a passion for continuous improvement

    + Strong interpersonal skills, e.g. ability to develop relationships and overcome resistance to change

    + Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

    + Ability to coach team members on effective analysis and strategic framework, including active performance management

    + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

    + Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

    + Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

    What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

    + Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Math, Finance, Business, etc.

    + Experience in agency, TMC, and/or leisure travel

    + Expertise with United commercial and sales data sources

    + Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI

    + Experience with data querying capabilities such as SQL, Python, SAS, R

    + Experience with Oracle Fusion/CX applications like Incentive Compensation

    The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $129,924.00.

     

    The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
