    Description

    We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.

    Job overview and responsibilities

    + Preplan staffing requirements for passenger, ramp and cargo operations through analysis of flight schedules, historical data and measured parameters to generate employee work schedules using staffing software

    + Develop and implement employee shift and vacation bidsPartner with station leaders to provide short and long term planning tools to determine daily staffing requirements and deliver adequate resources to optimize the operation and meet financial goals

    + Develop advanced Excel models and databases to manage daily work schedules

    + Monitor the dynamic resource allocation process and perform labor analysis to determine financial/operational trends and formulate action plans to better utilize resources

     

    PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL.

    Qualifications

    What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

    + Undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline involving quantitative analysis

    + 2 years of relevant work experience required

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Highly proficient in MS Office (Advanced Excel, Access) and statistical software

    + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

    + Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

    + Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

    What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

    + Green Belt from a recognized institution preferred

    + Previous resource planning experience preferred

    + Lean or Six Sigma experience in industry preferred

    + Project management and change management experience preferred

    + Knowledge of scheduling tools (Inform, StaffPlan)

    + Proficiency with complex data sets and SQL

    + Simulation software

    + Manpower scheduling applications

    + Web development and data visualization skills

     

    The base pay range for this role is $79,800.00 to $103,966.00.

     

    The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
