The Specialist, Financial Clearance I is responsible for verifying, confirming, and updating patient eligibility information and obtaining required referrals or authorizations for scheduled services. This role ensures accurate financial clearance while delivering excellent customer service to patients, internal departments, and external partners. •What you’ll do: + Facilitate and obtain pre-authorizations for services using online tools and direct communication with insurance carriers and physician offices + Manage a medium-volume authorization workload accurately and efficiently + Ensure all scheduled outpatient services are financially cleared before service dates + Perform medical necessity checks and discuss alternative options with patients when necessary + Document authorization details in accordance with departmental guidelines + Communicate issues to PAC II, Supervisor, or Manager as needed + Maintain patient privacy and comply with HIPAA regulations + Collaborate with hospital departments and physician offices via phone, email, and EPIC in-basket messages + Notify patients proactively regarding issues with referrals or authorizations + Meet departmental productivity and quality metrics + Support process improvements and team collaboration + Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong problem-solving skills + Perform other duties as assigned What We Offer + Benefits starting Day One + Daily Pay option + Career development and growth opportunities + Tuition reimbursement + On-site fitness center (Gottlieb Memorial Hospital & Loyola University Medical Center) + Employee referral rewards Pay Range: $18.16 - $28.14 per hour _Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles._ Trinity Health Benefits Summary (https://www.trinity-health.org/sites/default/files/my-benefits/Health-and-Wellbeing/Compliance/Illinois-Transparency-Law/Trinity-Health-Summary-of-Benefits-Illinois-Job-Req-Discloser-Law.pdf) Our Commitment Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
