What we want
The Admissions Coordinator II, under general supervision, is responsible for raising awareness of the School of Engineering Medicine (EnMed) to increase qualified enrollment, including increased recruitment, while serving as the primary liaison to prospective students and their families regarding admission requirements, academic requirements, financial aid and scholarships, and student support services.
What you need to know
Salary: $57,740 - 70,547 annually, compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.
Other Requirements and Factors: Position requires working some nights and weekends. Requires travel both locally and within the continental US at least 20% of the time. This position will be located in Houston, Texas in the heart of the Texas Medical Center
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
+ Four years of in admissions, recruiting, enrollment, advising services, or related experience in higher education
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with admissions, recruiting, and/or enrollment management program support
+ Experience in medical school, health professions, or STEM-related admissions and recruitment.
+ Experience with enrollment management systems (e.g., AMP, Banner, Slate).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
+ Ability to positively and professionally interact with educational constituents
+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
+ Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Responsibilities:
Program Coordination
+ Coordinates recruitment of highly qualified candidates, coordinates all aspects of the admissions/interview/acceptance process for the EnMed program, and provides program support and evaluation for the School of Engineering Medicine.
Recruitment
+ Assists in developing and implementing district-wide, campus-based, and program specific marketing and recruitment strategies.
+ Coordinate with high school, university, and business visitation programs for the recruitment of highly qualified candidates to the School of Engineering Medicine’s dual medical and engineering program.
Admission Processing
+ Provides personal one-one guidance to prospective students through the application process.
+ Assists with the prospective student interview program.
+ Coordinates admissions data entry/processing through the admissions portal.
+ Evaluates and makes recommendations for changes and improvements to the admissions processes for the School of Engineering Medicine based on established best practices.
Admission Counseling
+ Counsels and advises prospective students about the School of Engineering Medicine admissions requirements, policies, status, and office programs via electronic delivery (Zoom, TEAMS etc.), in-person appointment, telephone, email, and mail.
+ Works directly with applicants to resolve extenuating circumstances, complaints, appeals, and options for admissions concerns.
+ Maintains records of these activities.
+ Establishes working relationships with university departments, counselors, and advisors to enhance customer service and satisfaction.
+ Coordinates with TAMU enrollment services to facilitate consistent delivery of recruitment and admissions services.
Event Coordination
+ Plans and coordinates campus and district events such as informational workshops, visitations and tours, college fairs, business, and industry visits, etc., to inform the public about educational opportunities with the School of Engineering Medicine.
+ Assists in the design and coordination of events which elevate the School of Engineering Medicine’s recruitment and retention efforts.
+ Evaluates and makes recommendations for changes and improvements to program activities based on established best practices.
Record Management
+ Maintains student information system, CRM, and other databases relevant to student records for accurate record keeping of all recruitment activity to ensure goals are met and compliance is maintained with records management, privacy, and office procedures.
