+ This job is a member of the People Analytics Team within the People Division.
+ Responsible for mentoring Operations Performance Reporting Team members in designing a data infrastructure and reporting platform to help senior and front-line leaders to keep a pulse on the airline's operations and operational performance.
What you'll do
+ Manages and continuously improves databases and infrastructure to support the development and distribution of People team data through multiple channels.
+ Actively mentors team members on both technical skills and data knowledge and acts as the technical thought leader on the team.
+ Acts as the technical subject matter expert (SME) on our products.
+ Actively leads training on all People Analytics data and technical tools for new hires on the team and/or for any stakeholders in need of training.
+ Acts as a champion for the team when interacting with other departments to maximize the value of the People team data.
+ Leads the team's partnership with the IT team in the development of data roadmaps to address various evolving business requirements.
+ Fosters/Champions the use of latest technologies to architect the next generation of technical and analytics tools for more informative, dynamic, and appealing analytics.
+ Continuously seeks out opportunities to assist stakeholders in identifying root causes of operational challenges and incorporate relevant information in designing new operations reports.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
+ BS or advanced degree in STEM or related quantitative fields.
+ 5 year work experience in database (SQL server, Teradata, Azure, AWS, ect.) management.
+ Proficiency in SQL, Python or other development languages.
+ Expertise with data reporting and visualization tools and techniques (Cognos, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.) and multi-platform user interface development.
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
+ Experience on the People Analytics team or an equivalent analytics and data strategy team at American Airlines.
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
+ Motivated individual with strong passion for airline operations
+ Strong ability to understand/analyze business problems logically and develop appropriate solutions based on the context.
+ Ability to work with cross-functional groups and quickly develop relationships.
+ Flexibility in adapting to new ideas, approaches and in taking feedback from business partners.
+ Ability to perform both independently and as a team member and to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities, while
