    QA Engineer

    Job Description:

    The QA Engineer is an integral member of the product development lifecycle, collaborating from the initial design phase through to customer acceptance. As the ultimate team player, the QA Engineer is involved in multiple development efforts each release cycle, acting as the customer’s advocate and playing a key role in determining feature releases and timing. The QA team ensures that customer needs are met and that quality is embedded early in the process, not just post-development.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the design of major features from initial requirements through customer acceptance

    • Create test cases and build test automation tools for feature release and performance testing

    • Collaborate with the development team to build use cases and test coverage, including test plans, test data, and development sandbox companies

    • Manage all test activities for development projects, including bug/defect tracking and reporting, integration/user-acceptance, and regression testing

    • Oversee test activity to support project schedules, milestones, and deadlines

    • Determine production readiness of applications

    • Develop and maintain testing automation scripts

    • Serve as the ‘voice for the customer’ in internal discussions

    • This is a hybrid role – three days per week in our Beaverton office.

    Skills & Experience Required

    • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field

    • 3-5 years of software quality and test engineering experience

    • 2+ years of experience with Cloud/SAAS application development & delivery

    • Experience with Accounting/ERP applications or accounting knowledge

    • Direct experience troubleshooting existing code assets to find root cause for cases

    • Expert in creating test plans, mapping requirements to use cases, and detailed test cases

    • Expert in working on integrations

    • Ability to prioritize problems in problem tracking software applications

    • Strong analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills

    • History of shipping high-quality, well-designed software products

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently

    • Willingness to learn new processes and tools

    • Organized and able to work on multiple tasks efficiently

    • Customer-focused mindset

    30/60/90 Day Expectations:

    • First 30 Days: Onboard to the team and familiarize with product development lifecycle and QA processes. Begin participating in feature design discussions and start building initial test cases.

    • First 60 Days: Take ownership of test activities for assigned development projects. Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Start developing and maintaining automation scripts.

    • First 90 Days: Independently manage all test activities for multiple projects. Demonstrate ability to advocate for the customer in release decisions. Deliver high-quality, well-documented test plans and results.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

    • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

    • Knowledge of BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow).

    • Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
