    Description

    As a VFX Production Manager on our US team, you will be partnering with the VFX Executives within the VFX Dept to advise on and understand the complexities that come with supporting VFX projects. We are looking for someone who has enough experience and intuition to see a show as a whole and help to set it up for success.

     

    Your proactive approach will allow you to play a central role in understanding our cross-functional partners from across the studio and know when to engage. You will be a sounding board as a partner to the US VFX Executives, and provide organizational support on vendor management, budgets, and other administrative duties to keep our shows on track. As a VFX Production Manager, once settled in the role and with tenure, you may also be responsible for taking ownership of serval smaller size budgeted shows as the key contact and overall management.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Provides assistance as needed with all aspects of VFX production; from development and pre-production through final delivery.

    • Facilitates evolution of VFX tracking software, including title management tools and internal systems, such as Shotgun.

    • Works with application developers and provides feedback to help improve and evolve studio VFX and cross-functional workflows.

    • Frequently collaborates with and supports efforts to create better alignment between verticals.

    • Liaise between vendors, crew, internal teams to improve cross vertical information flow.

    • Tracks and manages VFX schedules, keeping stakeholders apprised of status.

    • Supports the projects in tracking and maintaining VFX script breakdowns, budgets, and weekly progress reporting.

    • Facilitates VFX reviews with creative teams and relay feedback as needed.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 4+ years’ experience as a production coordinator

     

    - Understanding the basic principles and terminology of the visual effects workflow process.

     

    - Extremely organized and detail oriented. Perfectionist – loves and lives by process. Excellent time management skills.

     

    - Even-tempered, grace under pressure and collaborative problem-solving abilities.

     

    - Conceptual/Critical Thinking - Keeping abreast of the business matters and update Director of Visual Effects, utilizing the appropriate resources to ensure accurate and timely information/data gathering and follow-up on all issues.

     

    - Willingness to continue learning to ensure understanding of current production process.

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 6+ years of VFX experience as VFX Production Manager.

     

    - Knowledge of creative, production, post production processes and related workflows.

     

    - Knowledge of digital audio and video file formats; and a technical understanding of the visual effects process.

     

    - Working knowledge of outside VFX and Virtual Production facilities and freelance talent.

     

    - A love of data and efficiency through using technology to solve problems. Familiarity with production and post software such as Shotgun, Movie Magic Budgeting, FileMaker, PIX, Cinesync, RV, Tableau, and newer platforms such as Flow Capture is a plus.

     

    - Strong interpersonal skills accompanied with a high degree of sensitivity for confidentiality.

     

    - Must be excellent in both oral and written communication techniques

     

    - Must be able to gather data and return reliable, pertinent information to executive for action.

     

    - Must be multi-task oriented with an excellent sense of priority; logic and objectivity, highly organized and capable of handling a number of sensitive and important issues simultaneously.

     

    - Anticipatory Planning & Management - Acts as VFX Executive in areas such as follow-up, monitoring calendar for conflicts, and communicating requests for information and routing to the appropriate person.

     

    - Know how to navigate and cross-communicate within the studio and show level.

     

    - Passionate about Amazons Culture and Leadership Principles in the workplace.

    - Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $64,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $137,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
