GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Director, Field External Investigations will be responsible for leading the strategic external theft investigative efforts for the company\. This includes the recruitment, development, and management of in\-store Loss Prevention Agents, and Community Investigative Managers\. The Director will drive execution through training, reporting, prioritization, and strategic resource allocation\. They will oversee external theft resolution efforts, coordinate Organized Retail Crime investigations, and foster partnerships with law enforcement at local, federal, and state levels, internal stakeholders, and key external partners to enhance case outcomes and develop tools for tracking and analysis\.
The base salary range for this role is $115,200 \- $216,600\. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location\. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees\. Other rewards vary by position and location\.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Manage recruiting efforts to identify top talent and drive the hiring, onboarding, training, development, and performance management of LP Agents and Community Investigative Managers\.
• Drive LP Agent execution through ongoing training and development of Agents and Investigative Managers, including best practices, de\-escalation tactics, case filing standards, and working with law enforcement\.
• Leverage reporting to evaluate Agent and Community Investigative Manager performance in theft resolution, including apprehensions, recovered merchandise, law enforcement partnership, etc\.
• Drive external theft resolution through assigned investigative resources, i\.e\., LP Agent program execution, exception reporting, store and system reports, CCTV and remote monitoring, etc\.
• Monitor external theft KPI's to manage resource allocation and adjust with business needs\. Analyze the data to identify trends, areas of opportunity, and root causes\.
• Build and leverage partnerships with law enforcement in coordination with Investigative Managers to solicit support of theft resolution in priority stores and markets\.
• Coordinate field\-based Organized Retail Crime and external investigations, working with law enforcement, corporate, and Field LP teams to identify, and investigate fencing locations including flea markets, online marketplaces, gift card and refund fraud, supply chain, etc\.
• Works with Organized Retail Crime retailer and law enforcement groups in priority markets, gathering evidence and coordinating with other retailers as appropriate to build and resolve investigations\.
• Support response efforts to address serious theft related incidents and collaborate with internal business partners to review findings and develop recommendations for resolution, solutions, or improvement\.
• Collaborate with business partners and peers, to identify, design, and develop additional tools and reporting to assist with external case resolution and tracking \(e\.g\. LP Case Management system\)\.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• BA degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Finance, Information Systems, , Accounting or similar fields of study or
• 7\-10 years of related Loss Prevention or Retail work\-experience
• 7\+ years of previous management or supervisory experience required
• 4\+ years of experience with reporting and analytics of Loss Prevention data/metrics or exception reporting systems \(i\.e\. XBR, Aspect, etc\.\) is preferred
• Experience with Service Now and Statistical Reporting is a plus
• Excellent analytical skills with a demonstrated track record in analytical or problem solving roles
• Intermediate user of Microsoft Office \(Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access\) and Microsoft Outlook programs
• Self\-motivated individual who can be successful in a fast\-paced environment, with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills
• Detail oriented, with a strong emphasis on accuracy
• Ability to work independently or on a team on projects of all sizes
• Demonstrated ability to cope with pressure and changing priorities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer\.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in\-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc\.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance\.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically\.
This role requires regular in\-office presence, including to engage in in\-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback\. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in\-office and remote work\.\#LI\-Hybrid
