    Job Summary

    The Environmental Intern will support Barrett Paving’s environmental team in implementing sustainable practices and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This internship offers hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, data analysis, and project support within the construction and paving industry.

    Main Responsibilities

    + Assist in conducting environmental site assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

    + Collect and analyze environmental data related to air quality, water runoff, soil conditions, and waste management.

    + Support the development and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives and best practices.

    + Help prepare environmental reports, permits, and documentation for regulatory agencies.

    + Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving environmental performance on project sites.

    + Assist in training and educating field personnel on environmental compliance and safety protocols.

    + Conduct research on environmental regulations and emerging industry standards relevant to paving and construction.

    Qualifications

    + Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.

    + Basic knowledge of environmental regulations and construction industry practices is a plus.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    + Willingness to work outdoors and visit construction sites as needed.
