Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Data Visualization is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-impact visualization products using tools such as Tableau and other BI platforms. In this role you’ll lead a team of developers to design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that drive operational insights and decision-making. You will also define the future vision for visualization tools, ensuring solutions are scalable, user-centric, and aligned with evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

+ Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for data visualization platforms to meet current and future business challenges.

+ Champion user-driven design principles to ensure tools are intuitive, actionable, and aligned with stakeholder needs.

+ Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform platform evolution and innovation.

Team Management

+ Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Tableau and BI developers.

+ Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation.

+ Manage resource allocation, performance reviews, and professional development.

Product Delivery

+ Oversee end-to-end delivery of dashboards and reports for operational use across the organization.

+ Ensure visualization products meet quality, usability, and performance standards.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including internal database experts, data engineering, business operations, and IT.

Governance & Compliance

+ Establish and enforce best practices for dashboard development, user access, data governance, and security.

+ Ensure compliance with enterprise data standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

+ 7+ years of experience in data visualization, BI tools, or analytics, with 3+ of those years being in a people leader role.

+ Expertise in Tableau and other BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Looker).

+ Strong understanding of data architecture, SQL, ETL processes, and operational reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience in healthcare, retail, or large-scale enterprise environments.

+ Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure).

+ Agile project management experience.

Education

+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$75,400.00 - $182,549.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
