Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

As a General Production Worker, you will be an integral part of the tire retread operations, providing essential support in a tire retread shop. Your main tasks will involve measuring and cutting tire tread to specified lengths, operating machinery to adhere tread to wheels, and using hoists to maneuver used semi-truck tires onto hooks connected to a pulley and conveyor system. You will also operate the conveyor system to transport tires into heating chambers for processing and ensure they are properly baked, broken down, and unloaded using the same systems. Additional responsibilities include using pneumatic buffing tools to finish tires and assisting in other production departments as required.

Responsibilities

+ Measure and cut tire tread to length.

+ Operate machinery to adhere tread to wheels.

+ Use hoists to lift and maneuver used semi-truck tires onto hooks.

+ Operate conveyor system to transport tires into heating chambers.

+ Bake and unload tires from ovens using conveyor and pulley system.

+ Assist with production in other departments as needed.

+ Use pneumatic buffing tools to finish tires.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in general labor, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environments.

+ Ability to stand on feet for the entirety of the shift.

+ Capability to frequently move and maneuver large tires.

+ Physical ability to push, pull, bend, and stoop as needed.

+ Willingness to work overtime, including 10-hour shifts and Saturdays.

Work Environment

The work environment involves dealing with used tires, which can be a bit dirty and noisy in some areas. The facility is equipped with extensive conveyor systems for transporting tires and includes ovens and other production equipment in operation. Regular work hours are from 4 am to 12:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime extending the shift to 1:30 pm or 2:30 pm. Employees should be open to working every other Saturday and possibly 9 to 10-hour shifts on weekdays.

This is a Contract to Hire position.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
