    Job Title: Solderer/Cable Assembler

    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Solderer to expertly build cable assemblies from drawings without explicit work instructions. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience soldering a wide range of products and orders. Experience with wire/harness soldering is highly advantageous, as it is more relevant to this role than PCB board soldering.

    Responsibilities

    + Follow production drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.

    + Understand and apply established acceptable workmanship practices to all facets of electronic assembly.

    + Interpret and work from electromechanical schematics, drawings, work instructions, and bills of material to understand the required parts and steps needed to complete the assigned assembly.

    + Read worksheets and wiring diagrams, selecting components such as transistors, resistors, relays, capacitors, and integrated circuits.

    + Mount complex assembled components on chassis panels, requiring manual dexterity and the ability to work with simple hand tools, soldering equipment, volt meters, and other related test instrumentation.

    + Connect component lead wires to printed circuit or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.

    + Position and align parts in specified relationships to each other using jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices.

    + Perform operations such as crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, cementing, and press fitting to join or secure parts in place.

    + Use hand and small power tools to place small components in boards, cables, connectors, and inspect parts and perform basic tests.

    + Perform additional assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.

    + Perform hand soldering using a soldering iron and work under a microscope for soldering and general inspection.

    + Conduct online go-no-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.

    + Troubleshoot and replace defects in finished products, and rework and repair defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel.

    + Follow safety procedures in the use and handling of flammable and hazardous chemicals to meet all cleanliness specifications.

    + Ensure quality checks are completed throughout the manufacturing process.

    + Record information on production records, logs, and other report forms.

    + Provide basic training and instruction to lower-level assemblers on day-to-day assignments.

    Essential Skills

    + Assembly skills with experience using tools and blueprints.

    + Expertise in EM Assembly, cables, soldering, and crimping.

    + Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.

    + 6-8 years of production experience in a manufacturing environment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to work with electromechanical schematics and drawings.

    + Experience with hand and small power tools.

    + Capability to perform work under a microscope.

    Work Environment

     

    The work location is in San Diego, CA, with flexible 1st shift hours from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm or 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Expect approximately 10 hours of overtime per week and occasional Saturday work. The work involves using various hand tools and equipment, and adherence to safety protocols is essential.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SAN DIEGO, California.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
