Job Title: Welder - Shop Hand
Job Description
We are seeking skilled welders to join our team. This position requires fabricating various sheet metal products by utilizing drawings, instructions, and company guidelines. Opportunities for flexible scheduling and potential shift changes are available.
Responsibilities
+ Operate welding equipment to work with carbon steel in various thicknesses in horizontal and vertical positions, including stainless steel and aluminum as required.
+ Demonstrate proficiency in TIG and wire welding.
+ Visualize finished products and interpret prints accurately.
+ Perform finish grinding on welded sheet metal using a hand grinder to ensure cosmetically adequate welded/ground corners.
+ Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Proficient in welding techniques, including MIG and TIG welding.
+ Ability to read blueprints and visualize final products.
+ Experience with sheet metal fabrication and grinding.
+ Professional welding experience is required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with welding on different materials such as stainless steel and aluminum.
+ Capability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment
Work in a clean, safe, and well-lit environment with good air quality. The work schedule is Monday to Friday with a 30-minute unpaid break and a 15-minute paid break. First shift runs from 6am to 2:30pm, with the possibility to stay until 3:30 or 4:30 if needed. Saturday shifts are from 5am to 10am if required. Second shift offers a $2.00 per hour shift premium, running from 4:00pm to 12:30am, with the possibility to stay until 2:30am. No weekend work for second shift. Training for second shift may occur during first shift for 1-4 weeks.

This is a Contract position based out of Bay City, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
