Job Title: Systems Engineer
Job Description
As a Systems Engineer, you will support, integrate, and deploy automated test and manufacturing applications alongside the necessary infrastructure. This role involves collaboration with production, engineering, and IT teams within an active satellite production facility.
Responsibilities
+ Provide first-line support for integrated hardware and software on production automation systems, including custom automated test equipment, SCADA for automated manufacturing lines, and interfaces with flight components and controllers.
+ Conduct thorough testing of integrated production systems to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring proper functionality and reliability. Document issues and communicate effectively with technical engineering team members.
+ Assist development teams with the deployment and commissioning of new systems, including programming (Python), configuration, and onboarding to network and back-end systems.
+ Provide feedback to development teams and contribute to maintaining a high-performing, connected, safe, and maintainable factory environment.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Python programming.
+ Strong network and DevOps skills.
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering technology, or equivalent education and experience.
+ Experience with installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience developing software that interacts directly with hardware.
+ Working knowledge of Ethernet-based industrial protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, and Modbus TCP.
+ Knowledge of fieldbus protocols like Profinet and CAN.
+ Understanding of security best practices, including encryption and establishing chains of trust.
+ Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
+ Knowledge of web technologies and data formats like HTTP/HTTPS and JSON/XML.
+ Strong cross-organizational communication skills.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $66.50/hr.
