    Job Title: Sterile/Hazardous Compounding Pharmacy Technician Trainer

    Job Description:

    In this role you will train other pharmacy technicians in sterile and hazardous compounding in compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards. The instructor will be responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive training programs that ensure technicians are proficient in aseptic techniques, hazardous drug handling, and cleanroom protocols.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement structured training modules covering sterile and hazardous compounding practices.

    • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with USP <797> and USP <800> guidelines.

    • Conduct hands-on training sessions, simulations, and competency assessments.

    • Evaluate technician performance and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

    • Maintain training records and documentation for regulatory compliance.

    • Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to identify training needs and update curriculum accordingly.

    • Ensure all instructional materials are current with evolving regulatory standards and best practices.

    • Support onboarding and continuing education for new and existing pharmacy technicians.

    • Participate in audits and quality assurance initiatives related to compounding practices.

    + Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for compounding-related inquiries and troubleshooting.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with pharmacy compounding.

    + Compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards.

    + Experience in sterile and/or hazardous compounding.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + PTCB certification preferred.

    + Registration in TN preferred.

    + 5+ years of experience preferred.

    + Leadership ability or interest in leadership opportunities.

    + Compounding experience with multiple drugs preferred.

    Work Environment

    You will be working in a fast-paced environment, primarily during the first shift from 9 to 5, with some flexibility. The facility spans 5,000 square feet, with an ongoing expansion of 4,000 square feet. Currently, there are 13 hoods, with 9 more being added, and the team includes 6 pharmacists among a total staff of 33.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
