    Job Title: Laboratory TechnicianJob Description

     

    The Laboratory Technician's primary responsibility is to provide support to laboratory staff as needed in all areas of laboratory operations. Reporting to the general manager and/or operations manager, the laboratory technician's role will evolve daily based on the laboratory's needs.

    Responsibilities

    + Independently prepare and analyze samples following analytical SOPs using department-specific instrumentation and analytical methodologies after appropriate training.

    + Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.

    + Assist with validation and MDL studies.

    + Support investigations and prepare responses to client inquiries and CARs.

    + Input and maintain technical information necessary to support laboratory functions and operations.

    + Maintain a Laboratory Notebook where applicable.

    + Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with extraction, titration, and pH measurement.

    + Proficiency in using Agilent GCMS, overseeing multiple instruments, and loading multiple batches per day.

    + Experience with Centurian Auto Samplers and EV2 concentrator.

    + Familiarity with environmental science and laboratory equipment.

    + Experience with 8260/8260 TCLP and 624.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum experience in sciences through education, work-related, or a combination.

    + Comfortable handling various acids, bases, and reagents with appropriate PPE.

    + Knowledge of and concern for environmental issues is a plus.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) is a must.

    + Effective communication skills with the ability to work under minimal guidance and multitask with shifting priorities.

    + Demonstrates utmost level of integrity and respect towards others and company principles.

    + Excellent time management skills with the ability to balance multiple projects concurrently and arrange necessary resources.

    Work Environment

    The work is conducted in a Chemistry Lab focused on extractions. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, the position requires flexibility, with longer hours, evenings, and/or weekend work necessary as job duties demand.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, New Jersey.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
